Dutch Baked Eel Recipe

Serves/Makes: 4 servings


  • 1 eel (about 2 pounds)
  • Nutmeg
  • 4 ounces butter
  • Pepper and salt, to taste
  • Breadcrumbs
  • 2 teaspoons vinegar
How to cook Dutch Baked Eel:
  • Clean the fish and cut into 2-inch lengths.
  • Melt the butter in a casserole and put in the eel.
  • Sprinkle with breadcrumbs, nutmeg, seasoning and vinegar, cover and bake in a slow oven (300°F) for 2 hours.
