King Mackerel Adobo (Adobong Tanigue) Recipe

Serves/Makes: 4 - 6

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole king mackerel (tanigue), about 2 1/2 to 3 pounds
  • 2 cloves garlic, pounded
  • 8 peppercorns
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 root ginger, crushed
  • 2 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 3/4 tablespoon salt
How to cook King Mackerel Adobo (Adobong Tanigue):
  • Clean the fish removing all the entrails and gills. Cut into serving pieces.
  • Place fish in a pot , then add the garlic, pepper, cooking oil, vinegar, ginger, salt and water.
  • Bring to a simmer until the King Mackerel Adobo is done.
