Parmesan Broiled Tilapia Recipe
Serves/Makes: 6
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds tilapia fillets
- 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese
- 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup of softened butter
- 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon of dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground black pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon of celery salt
- 1/8 teaspoon of onion powder
- 2 sliced lemons (for garnish)
- Fresh Italian parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Non-stick cooking spray
- Preheat the broiler of your oven so it is ready when you are finished with the preparations.
- Use cooking spray to grease a broiling pan, or line it with aluminum foil.
- Place Parmesan cheese, mayonnaise and the softened butter in a bowl. Pour the lemon juice over the ingredients and mix them all together.
- Add the dried basil, the pepper, the celery salt and the onion powder to the mayonnaise mixture and merge carefully.
- Put the tilapia fillets in the prepared broiling pan.
- Insert the broiling pan in the oven and broil the tilapia fillets a few inches from the heat for approximately 2-3 minutes.
- Turn the tilapia fillets and broil them for a few more minutes.
- Take the tilapia fillets out of the oven and cover the tops of the fillets with the Parmesan cheese mix.
- Insert the broiling pan in the oven once more and broil the tilapia fillets until the topping has turned brown.
- The fish is ready when it is easy to flake it using a fork. It is important not to over cook the fish.
- Place the Parmesan broiled tilapia fillets on serving plate and garnish with lemon slices and fresh parsley.
Notes:
You will have a quick and tasty tilapia dish suitable for every day of the week.
If you are planning a dinner for fewer persons, you can simply decrease the stated amount of each ingredient.
