Submit a photo for the recipe: Polynesian Raw Tuna (Sashimi) Serves/Makes: 4 - 6

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound fresh yellowfin tuna fish or walu fish (butterfish) fillets (sashimi grade)

  • Sashimi Dip Sauce
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 2 lemons, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 small piece ginger, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons grated radish (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
How to cook Polynesian Raw Tuna (Sashimi):
  • Slice the tuna fillets on the diagonal into strips about 1/2 inch wide and 1 1/2 inches long and place in a bowl.
  • Arrange the tuna strips around a serving dish.
  • Mix the Sashimi Dip Sauce ingredients in a small bowl and place it in centre of serving dish.

Tip:

Because the tuna does not require any cooking, the tuna fish must be really fresh (smells like the "sea" and a good color).
