Thai Sour and Spicy Prawn Soup Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 6 large spiny-clawed prawns (shrimps)
  • 1 lemon grass stem, cut into short lengths
  • 3 kaffir lime leaves, torn into pieces
  • 5 crushed hot chilies
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 3 cups soup stock
How to cook:
  • Shell and devein the prawns and remove all inedible parts.
  • Heat the stock in a pot. When it is boiling, put in the lemon grass and then the prawns. Season with the fish sauce, chilies, and lime juice.
  • Then, add the kaffir lime leaves and serve hot.

Notes:

The Thai name for Sour and Spicy Prawn Soup recipe is Tom Yam Kung.
This recipe is delicious, simple, and really easy to cook.

Tip:

Ground dried chillies can be substituted for the hot chilies in this recipe add 1 teaspoon of ground dried chillies to the boiling stock.
