Vietnamese Deep Fry Shrimps Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 pounds medium-size shrimps
  • 2 stalks lemon grass, finely sliced and chopped
  • 5 chilies, finely chopped
  • 2 dried chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 big onion, finely chopped
  • 4 tablespoons tom yam paste
  • 2 tablespoons tamarind juice (from 1/2 teaspoons tamarind mixed with 3 tablespoons water)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
How to cook:
  • Season shrimps with a pinch of salt, sugar and monosodium glutamate.
  • Toss in 1 cup corn flour.
  • Deep fry marinated shrimps in hot oil until crispy. Drain.
  • Heat wok with oil and fry chopped ingredients until fragrant.
  • Add mixed tom yam paste, tamarind juice, and sugar and fry well.
  • Toss in shrimps and stir fry well.
  • Lastly, add sesame oil.
