
Amish Oyster and Potato Stew Recipe
Serves/Makes: 4
Ingredients:
- 18 stewing oysters
- 2 medium potatoes, diced
- 1 celery stalk, chopped
- Salt, to taste
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups milk
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Pepper, to taste
How to cook Amish Oyster and Potato Stew:
- Cook potatoes and celery in 1 cup of water until tender. Salt, to taste.
- In the remaining 1/2 cup water, cook the oysters with 1/4 teaspoon salt. Heat until boiling and the oysters begin to curl.
- Add milk, butter, and vegetables. Heat thoroughly. Add pepper, to taste.
