
Chapala Vepudu (Deep Fried King Mackerel) Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 sear fish (Indo-Pacific King mackerel)
- 4 teaspoons oil
- 3 teaspoons green chillies, chopped
- Curry leaves to taste
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 3 teaspoons rice flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons corn flour
- 4 teaspoons ginger garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 4 teaspoons lemon juice
How to cook Chapala Vepudu (Deep Fried King Mackerel):
- In a bowl mix together all masala ingredients.
- Clean and wash King mackerel and slice it into pieces.
- Marinate the King mackerel with above masala and keep aside for 1hour.
- Deep fry the King mackerel and keep aside.
- Heat oil in the pan and add green chillies, curry leaves and onions. Saute till onion turns pink.
- Add red chilli powder, turmeric, coriander powder, lemon juice and prepared King mackerel.
- Toss the King mackerel in the onion and chilli masala.
- Chapla Vepudu is ready to eat. Garnish with lemon and onion slices and serve hot.
