
Filipino Shrimp Lagat Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 cups shrimp (hipon)
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 tablespoons vinegar
- Salt and pepper
- 1/2 cup water
- Cooking oil
How to cook Filipino Shrimp Lagat:
- Remove the heads and shell of the shrimp. Mash the pounded heads of the shrimp in 1/2 cup of water. Strain and save the shrimp juice.
- Saute garlic, onion, and tomatoes. Add the shrimp and season with salt.
- Stir fry for few minutes. Add vinegar and simmer until almost dry.
- Add the shrimp juice, bring to a simmer, adjust seasoning and serve.
