
Filipino Shrimp Omelet (Torta) Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup shrimp (hipon), deveined, shelled, and chopped
- 1/4 cup sliced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup sliced onion
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 5 to 6 eggs, well beaten
- 1 tablespoon flour
- Salt to taste
- Cooking oil
How to cook Filipino Shrimp Omelet (Torta):
- Saute garlic, onion, and tomatoes, then add shrimp.
- Season with salt to taste. Set aside when cooked.
- Beat the eggs in a bowl, then mix the flour.
- Season with salt to taste.
- Pour in the pan over low fire and when solidified at the bottom, add the shrimp mixture.
- Fold the eggs covering the mixture like a sandwich.
- Turn the other side of the omelet until both sides are golden brown.
- Transfer in a plate and serve.
