
Laotian Fish Soup with Lemon Grass Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 pounds snakehead fish* (pa kho) fillets
- 1 stalk lemon grass, chopped crossways
- 2 small heads garlic, the cloves peeled and chopped
- 1-2 tablespoons rice
- 5 spring onions, bulbs only, chopped
- Coriander leaves, chopped
- Fish sauce to taste
- Salt and ground black pepper to taste
How to cook Laotian Fish Soup with Lemon Grass:
- Boil water in a pot. Add salt to taste.
- Slice the snakehead fish (pa kho) fillets into pieces about 1-inch long.
- Add the fish and rice to the pot.
- Cook until the fish is cooked through.
- Add the fish sauce, chopped lemon grass, garlic, and spring onion.
- Cook about 10 minutes. Taste and check the saltiness, then transfer everything to a serving-bowls.
- Garnish the snakehead fish food with the coriander leaves and the ground black pepper, and serve.
- If you like the sour taste, squeeze some lime juice on it.
