
Maryland Deviled Clams Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 cups shucked clams and liquor
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons minced celery
- 1 1/2 tablespoons minced green pepper
- 1 1/2 tablespoons minced onion
- 1/2 cup cracker crumbs
- 1/4 teaspoon prepared mustard
- Pinch of red pepper
- Salt, if needed
- 1 egg
How to cook Maryland Deviled Clams:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Drain clams and chop very fine. Add liquor and lemon juice and simmer for 3 minutes.
- Melt butter; add celery, green pepper and onion, and cook until tender.
- Add clams and cracker crumbs. Add seasonings to beaten egg and stir into clam mixture.
- Bake in large clam shells in 350°F (180°C) oven for 15 minutes.
