
Maryland Snacking Crab Meat Spread Recipe
Serves/Makes: 8 – 10 appetizer serving
Ingredients:
- 1/2 pound backfin crab meat
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1 teaspoon half-and-half
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 small onion, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon horseradish
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- Sprinkling of white pepper
- 1 teaspoon unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup toasted almond slivers
How to cook Maryland Snacking Crab Meat Spread:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Soften cream cheese with half-and-half and Worcestershire in a small bowl. Blend in crab meat, onion, horseradish, and mix lightly but well. Season with salt and white pepper to taste.
- Butter a small, attractive, ovenproof serving dish and fill with crab mixture. Sprinkle toasted almond slivers over the top.
- Bake for 15 minutes until crab mixture is heated through.
- Serve hot right from the oven with assorted crackers, toasts, or other breads. Keep crab meat spread warm on a heated buffet tray.
