Polynesian Raw Tuna (Sashimi) Recipe
Serves/Makes: 4 – 6
Ingredients:
- 1 pound fresh yellowfin tuna fish or walu fish (butterfish) fillets (sashimi grade)
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 2 lemons, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 1 small piece ginger, sliced
- 2 tablespoons grated radish (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
How to cook Polynesian Raw Tuna (Sashimi):
- Slice the tuna fillets on the diagonal into strips about 1/2 inch wide and 1 1/2 inches long and place in a bowl.
- Arrange the tuna strips around a serving dish.
- Mix the Sashimi Dip Sauce ingredients in a small bowl and place it in centre of serving dish.
Tip:
Because the tuna does not require any cooking, the tuna fish must be really fresh (smells like the “sea” and a good color).
