
Russian Trout in Nut Sauce Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds (1 kg) trout fillets
- 3/4 pound walnuts
- 4 onions
- 6 tablespoons olive oil
- Pepper peas
- 1 bay leaf
- Salt and pepper to taste
How to cook Russian Trout in Nut Sauce:
- Poach trout in a small amount of lightly salted water on low heat for 10-15 minutes.
- Take the fish out of water.
- Grind walnuts. Peel onions and slice finely.
- Fry onions in oil until lightly golden. Combine onion with walnuts, salt to taste and add to the fish broth.
- Bring the sauce to a boil and cook for 5 minutes.
- Put fish in the sauce and poach for other 5 minutes.
