
Trout – Cajun Cuisine Recipe
Serves/Makes: 3 – 4
Ingredients:
- 1 pound (454 g) trout fillets (1/4-inch / 1-cm thick)
- 1 1/2 teaspoons (7.5 mL) paprika
- 3/4 teaspoon (3.75 mL) pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 mL) salt
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 mL) oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 mL) chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 mL) dry mustard
- 1 green onion, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 mL) thyme
- Pinch Cayenne pepper
- 2 teaspoons (10 mL) vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons (10 mL) freshly chopped parsley
- Lemon wedges
How to cook Trout – Cajun Cuisine:
- Into a small bowl, mix together paprika, pepper, salt, oregano, chili powder, dry mustard, chopped green onion, thyme and Cayenne pepper set aside.
- Wipe dry trout fillets using paper toweling lightly brush fillets with vegetable oil on both sides.
- Arrange fillets onto a baking sheet, skin side down.
- Sprinkle paprika mixture all over fillets.
- Broil, 4 to 6 inches (10 to 15 cm) from heat, for 4 to 5 minutes, until flesh can easily be broken-up with a fork.
- Serve the broiled trout with lemon wedges.
