
Vietnamese Deep Fry Shrimps Recipe
Serves/Makes: 4
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 pounds medium-size shrimps
- 2 stalks lemon grass, finely sliced and chopped
- 5 chilies, finely chopped
- 2 dried chilies, finely chopped
- 1 big onion, finely chopped
- 4 tablespoons tom yam paste
- 2 tablespoons tamarind juice (from 1/2 teaspoons tamarind mixed with 3 tablespoons water)
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
How to cook Vietnamese Deep Fry Shrimps:
- Season shrimps with a pinch of salt, sugar and monosodium glutamate.
- Toss in 1 cup corn flour.
- Deep fry marinated shrimps in hot oil until crispy. Drain.
- Heat wok with oil and fry chopped ingredients until fragrant.
- Add mixed tom yam paste, tamarind juice, and sugar and fry well.
- Toss in shrimps and stir fry well.
- Lastly, add sesame oil.
