
Shaker Fish Pie Recipe
Ingredients:
- 3 cups flaked cooked white fish
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 medium onions, sliced thin and chopped
- 2 tablespoons chopped celery
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon marjoram
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
- 1 (8-inch) uncooked pastry shell
- 1 cup fine bread crumbs
- 2 cups heavy cream
How to cook Shaker Fish Pie:
- Melt butter in saucepan, add onions and celery and saute until soft and golden but not brown. Season with salt and pepper, marjoram, and parsley.
- Let this blend, then remove from fire and combine with cooked fish. Pour this mixture into pie shell. Sprinkle over with bread crumbs. Pour in cream.
- In an oven preheated to 350°F (180°C) bake for 10 minutes, then reduce to 325°F (165°C) for another 20 minutes.
- Watch to prevent burning.
